Om Mamah was born from one woman’s journey of curiosity, resilience, and heartfelt purpose.
From a young age, our founder Aparna was driven by a love for learning and a desire to create meaningful impact. After earning accolades for academic excellence and topping engineering entrance exams, she went on to pursue a Master’s in Electrical Engineering at USC, graduating as the Most Outstanding Student with a perfect GPA.
Her career began at Meta, and continued with industry leaders like Cisco and Intel, where she contributed to groundbreaking innovations in network systems. But while her professional path flourished, a deeper calling began to take shape—one that connected her lifelong love for beauty, wellness, and authentic living.
Aparna grew up in a home where Ayurveda wasn’t just a philosophy—it was a way of life. Her earliest beauty rituals were inspired by her grandmother’s wisdom—DIY skin and hair remedies made from simple kitchen and garden ingredients. In her twenties, she explored luxury beauty brands, but motherhood changed everything.
As a new mom, her priorities shifted. The long routines faded. What remained was a longing for simplicity, safety, and truth. When she started examining everyday products—from baby food to shampoo—she was shocked to uncover harsh chemicals hiding even in so-called “natural” products.
Motivated by a deep love and a fierce desire to protect her child, Aparna returned to her roots. She rediscovered the power of time-tested Ayurvedic remedies—millets and lentils for baby food, scalp massages for hair health, herbal blends for colds, and handcrafted soaps for daily care. These simple, effective traditions nurtured her family’s well-being and reignited her connection to nature’s gentle wisdom.
As she began sharing her practices with other mothers, she saw a clear need: Modern families were overwhelmed. Between work, parenting, and the search for safe, effective products, self-care often took a backseat.
